If you are an ardent Shah Rukh Khan fan, you have another reason to be excited. On January 12, the official trailer of his much-anticipated film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was launched. The trailer starts off with SRK's voice reciting a poem and ends on him walking away like a king and showing us his back. All dialogue is in English and we get to see glimpses of all the actors who will star in it — Gauri (Karisma Kapoor), Rishi (SRK) and Lata (Rekha). There is no dialogues between them but they do wear each other like they care about each other. This is also the first time that SRK will be seen in a film in Bombay. All the dialogues are English ones except for one line when SRK says "Pyaar ka baara baara" when he is asked if he wants to go out. He is looking at his mother awaiting an answer. The song kicks in but we can't hear it as it cuts off abruptly which is a pity as the song was fun and peppy. The next part looks like a flashback where Rishi asks Gauri for a date and she tells him she has something important to do, which sends him on a note of distaste and turns into anger as he walks away from her on hearing that she needs to do something important. The next part is Gauri's flashback which shows her falling in love with Rishi during their college days. What is interesting though is that she offers to take him home by grabbing the front of his shirt and pulling it. Rishi, however, does not reciprocate but he also doesn't pull away so she does so again and this time he pulls away and she falls flat on her face. When she gets up, he is standing there with a big smile which nearly sends her running after him. The way she pouts at him when he walks away demonstrates that the girl still loves him deep down. Gauri's flashback ends there and the next part is Rishi's. He is shocked when he sees Gauri in the hospital after she has almost died during childbirth. This scene brings back memories of an earlier scene in "Deewar" where SRK cries while looking at the corpse of his wife who died giving birth to him. It also shows how committed he is to Gauri even though she didn't marry him. There are no dialogues in this scene but his face says it all. The character of Lata, who plays Rishi's mother, is the only one that isn't seen in any other scene or flashback. She is shown dancing with him on a beach, which is the same place where Gauri and Rishi used to meet during their college days. Rishi finally meets Lata at a place where Gauri is going but she comes back alone as he doesn't turn up. Rishi is not happy as he had been looking forward to meeting her. The final part of the trailer shows how Lata brings up the words "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" all by herself as she keeps giving different suggestions to Gauri so that Gauri feels less guilty about leaving Rishi behind.
